Role of the School Counsellor

For many students, there is an unending list of expectations and challenges in both school and life in general. Their requirements for academic, social, behavioural, and mental health support have evolved from their childhood and adolescence, and they now require more assistance. The goal of counseling is to provide students with a secure space to talk about their issues, cooperate to resolve disagreements, enhance their behaviour, and support their social growth.
To promote holistic development, the counselor acts as a mediator among the various school ecosystems that a child interacts with. This covers the exchange of information between classmates, instructors, parents, and students. They support students in determining their aptitudes, interests, and capacities.
Through both individual and group training, we hope to develop resilient, self-assured, and problem-solving people. Social-emotional learning is a part of our group work, and they help students to develop their connection, self-management, social awareness, and self-awareness. However, our individual counselling sessions offer a private, judgment-free environment where students can manage their emotional and behavioral issues, work through interpersonal conflicts, or even utilize it to explore their talents and most positive aspects of themselves.
These services act as a spark to create an environment that is favorable for pupils to thrive in.
